ARRRGH!!!
GASPARILLA RACES
At Tampa Sailing Squadron FEB. 2008

First let's make a point of thanking our major sponsor Lexus of Tampa Bay

It all started out like any other regatta, the gang cooking up a mess of burgers and hot dogs on the new grill, smoker and bar that Frank built, everyone agreed it was a tremendous work of art.
There were tons of trophies available for every concievable sailing catagory.
The race started out a little slow, the wind just wasn't there yet, but by noon the breeze began to fill in and the faster boats began to move.
Spinnaker battles broke out every where and a few old favorites did very well
Soon it was party time, music was played, dinner served and the trophys were handed out. In the final analyses the club won the Cruising Shootout Challenge Gun back from Davis Island. Great job gang!
As usual the club photographers shot hundreds of photos. Bill Fishbourne has placed his up on The Kodak Gallery. You can view the show or order prints there. Just email him bill@rvrgrp.com and ask for the location. We will try to blast out the location to all club members and any one else we can think of.
Chuck Carroll was shooting with a big Nikon zoom so he should have gotten some terriffic close ups of all the action. You can probably view his photos up on his site at www.chuckcarrollphotography.com
Anyone needing high res files for publication or promotion should contact Bill Fishbourne, Squadron Photographer at bill@rvrgrp.com and he will see what he can do. Thanks everyone for a great race.
